Back in my childhood I heard about this comedy, which was praised by literally everyone. For technical reasons, I only got my hands on the story of Austin Powers now, in 2010. Having bought the whole trilogy at once, I watched all three parts in two days. And to be honest, I didn't get that super masterpiece comedy that everyone was talking about. However, I still got a certain dose of positive emotions. Moreover, with each new part of this positive emotions became a little bit more. The first part, to me personally seemed the weakest.
To begin with, I want to note excellent parodies of James Bond and many other spy films, as well as ridiculing various movie stamps. In some places, of course, the creators overdid it. All this crap mostly resembled nonsense, rather than good absurd humor. And Michael Myers' constant antics were sometimes even a bit annoying rather than funny. So, for me personally, such movies are always a rather controversial decision.
But of course, there are enough funny jokes here, and if you get used to the local way of humor presentation, you can get some pleasure from watching it. But of course, I repeat, will not please everyone, it is very specific humor here. That's why I consider the first part to be the most controversial in the trilogy. There are no super cool jokes to love in it, but at the same time, if not for its success at the box office we would never see those wonderful sequels, which will be much stronger in terms of humor.
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is a very specific comedy, which I'm sure will not appeal to everyone, given such a specific humor. But still the positive qualities of the tape is enough to stay in my brain as a tape liked. In addition, the presence of Elizabeth Hurley in her best years only adds to the charm of the movie.
