Storyline
Wallace and Gromit have a brand new business. The conversion of 62 West Wallaby Street is complete and impressive, the whole house is now a granary with ovens and robotic kneading arms. Huge mixing bowls are all over the place and everything is covered with a layer of flour. On the roof is a 'Wallace patent-pending' old-fashioned windmill. The transformation is perfect. Although business is booming, Gromit is concerned by the news that 12 local bakers have 'disappeared' this year - but Wallace isn't worried. He's too distracted and 'dough-eyed' in love with local beauty and bread enthusiast, Piella Bakewell, to be of much help. While they enjoy being the 'Toast of the Town', Gromit, with his master's life in jeopardy, must be the sleuth and solve the escalating murder mystery - in what quickly becomes a 'Matter of Loaf and Death'.
User Review
Now, thanks to their talent as inventors, Wallace and Gromit bake delicious buns. Weekdays go by smoothly, Gromit faithfully follows the production and his master, who, after inventing something, immediately leaves the main concerns to his pet. But, alas, not everyone in town likes their fresh baked goods - articles about the deaths of bakers more and more often appear in the city newspaper. And Wallace and Gromit become the killer's next target.
Also, our heroes make new friends - they are Piella Bakewell and her dog Fluffley. I, honestly speaking, do not like poodles, but Fluffly turned out to be so cute that the expression of her eyes immediately cause sympathy.
An interesting and unexpected moment in the cartoon was a parody of the famous episode from the movie “Ghost” with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. Parodying, it was the main thing to balance that would not turn out silly, and Nick Park succeeded. It was a delightful moment.
The highlight for me was how human look emotions and feelings of characters - eye expressions, facial expressions, gestures, there are episodes where everything is clear and without words.
Why else does this cartoon deserve your attention? Because light British humor, interesting, non-standard plot, lively music by Julian Nott and a bit of adventure and romance.
