You can talk all you want about 'American Pie' being smutty. Call it tasteless, disgusting and lowbrow. You're welcome. It won't make it any less legendary.

You can smile, you can laugh, and you can chuckle. You can enjoy subtle wordplay or monumental phrases, or you can enjoy flirting with semi-forbidden themes and provocative imagery.

And, putting aside speculation about whether the 'youth comedy' genre as a whole is worthy of attention, let's consider: what other movie in this category contains so many memorable scenes and images that have gone viral?

Stiffler.

Stiffler's mom ('MILF! MILF!') Yes, even though this acronym was invented earlier, it was after 'American Pie' that it went viral.

That's just what comes to mind first!

Great selection of actors: from the main ones, to the secondary and episodic ones. Well, who can you imagine in the role of Jim's father but Eugene Levy? Who to replace Jennifer Coolidge as Stiffler's mom? And what a great Sherman Chris Owen was? The main four also got into character flawlessly.

The magic of 'American Pie' is not only in the fact that it hasn't become outdated in a quarter of a century, but also in the fact that every time you sit down to watch it, it's as if you're meeting old friends.

And, importantly, behind the outer shell of a goofy comedy lies a Thought. It is love that is the most important thing in a relationship, not sex.
