The whole of America sat down to the TV screens when the audience's favorite series “Galaxy Quest” began. The heroes of this sci-fi saga were truly folk heroes. But years passed, and the series bored television bosses - “Galaxy Quest” was closed, and the troupe was disbanded. Now unemployed poor poor actors are forced to travel all over America, speaking at meetings with fans for a pittance. In general, things with the former stars were, to put it mildly, very bad. And then a very unusual fan of the series is announced - the inhabitants of a distant galaxy, having taken the TV series in circulation for the historical documents of the planet Earth, designed equipment for galactic wars, including spaceships, so that everything looked like in the series, but it worked. The actors, meanwhile, were in dire straits, entertaining their few fans on tour with scenes from the space soap opera. The aliens were facing the very real danger from the intelligent beastmen, their race was on the verge of annihilation. They declare themselves to the commander of the series and invite him to their ship. The entire cast joins him to engage in battle with the evil aggressors!

The authors of the movie do not even hide the fact that Captain Kirk, his crew, and the spaceship Enterprise from 'Star Trek' are taken as prototypes for 'Galaxy Quest'. Even the title - 'Galaxy Quest' - is a clear reference to 'Star Trek'.

Have you never been a fan of star trek adventures? Then you won't understand. The makers of the movie not only made a great comedy, it's an ode to gratitude! This whole movie is a huge thank you from its creators to their teachers: for the ability to see the best in people, for the love of romance, for believing in miracles and for striving for the Dream - for all the light and humanity that Roddenberry, the author and creator of 'Star Trek', showed.

And this 'thank you' came out just great!
