Uncle Buck 4K 1989 Ultra HD 2160p
Storyline
As an idle but good-natured commitment-phobe, Buck Russell is the last person you would think of to watch his brother Bob's three children. However, during a family crisis, he is suddenly left in charge of them. Unaccustomed to suburban life, he soon charms Miles and Maizy with his hefty cooking and his new way of doing the laundry. His carefree style does not impress everyone though - especially his rebellious teenage niece, Tia, and impatient girlfriend, Chanice. With a little bit of luck and a lot of love, he manages to surprise everyone in this heartwarming family comedy.
User Review
This movie can rightfully be considered a benefit for the wonderful actor John Candy. I will not say that this is his best role and so on, but I can just say that in the character of Uncle Buck, there is a lot of John Candy himself.
I just reviewed a lot of movies with this actor, but not all of them, and came to the conclusion that John Candy always gravitated to dramatic characters. And he was able to laugh at him no less than to make the viewer empathize and sympathize with him. Few people now can so harmoniously combine these two contradictory states of mind. John Candy did. Masterfully play it all out in the frame.
His Uncle Buck seems at first glance very reckless, and worse, irresponsible. After all, by his forties, he has failed to build a house, plant a tree and start a family. And so his brother turns to him for help at the very last moment. And not because he wants to see him, but only because someone has to look after the children while they are away. And it's not quite right, but Uncle Buck, he's a good man, and of course he agrees. And with his arrival, a lot of things change in his brother's family. Plus to everything else, from this moment the viewer becomes very funny, and closer to the final credits, even somehow sad.
What John Hughes was good at in his comedies was the ability to always dramatize it. That's why you love, alas, few John Hughes comedies, where humor borders on sadness, and laughter with tears.
I would certainly recommend this movie to many people to watch. Well, at least because in modern cinematography, now very few decent comedies. And those that are made with a soul and can be watched with the whole family, they are even less.
That's why 'Uncle Buck' is just the kind of movie that we lack now.
