Storyline
Mark Whitacre has worked for lysine developing company ADM for many years and has even found his way into upper management. But nothing has prepared him for the job he is about to undertake - being a spy for the FBI. Unwillingly pressured into working as an informant against the illegal price-fixing activities of his company, Whitacre gradually adopts the idea that he's a true secret agent. But as his incessant lies keep piling up, his world begins crashing down around him.

I expected a lot from this movie. Well, how could I not? To think about my favorite actor Matt Damon in Soderbergh's new movie and with SUCH a plot! I've been counting the days until I finally got to see this movie.

But the premiere was postponed for a long time and while waiting for the movie I managed to read the book by Kurt Eichenwald on which the movie was filmed. I liked the book, I liked it mainly because there is nothing fictional in it, only a real story, carefully constructed by the author. Clearly after reading the book, I began to expect more from the movie. And I was already worried, whether the director will be able to properly cope with the task that he set himself, taking on the screen adaptation?

But the movie not only did not disappoint, but exceeded all my expectations. The movie not only unparalleledly betrays the idea and atmosphere of the book, but also makes it brighter with Mark's crowning and completely inappropriate thoughts. Sometimes these thoughts made me laugh out loud. When he, for example, talking to an FBI agent, thinks about colored butterflies or that it would be nice to buy an indoor pool.

The main plus of the movie is, of course, the game of Matt Damon. He proved that he is one of the few able to play both in drama and comedy equally well. It may not be the main role in his life, but he coped with it the best, thus moving to a new level of acting. The other actors did their work well, but on the background of the main character looked faded.

The acting is not limited to the pluses of the picture. I would single out the soundtrack and camerawork, perhaps, it will seem strange to you that I combined these two concepts. But I did it for a reason. Both soundtrack and cameraman's work recreates the atmosphere of 60s comedies and this artistic technique, like a spice for a good dish gives the movie a kind of “flavor”.

Here I have listed the main pluses of this movie for me, although in fact the pluses are much more. You ask me what about the minuses? And I proudly answer I did not find them. And this is a very rare case!
