As a result of a genetic experiment, harmless New Zealand sheep turn into bloodthirsty predators and begin terrorizing local farms.

The main character is very afraid of sheep (a deep childhood trauma). He comes to his father's farm to see his older brother. But his brother has opened a laboratory where he conducts experiments on poor sheep. And two ardent defenders of nature are hanging around the laboratory...
There are some very specific films, such as “One! Two! Three! Die!” To enjoy a film like this (which, by the way, I did), you need to look at life, all its rules, all its laws, and all its values in a different way.
And there are films that are (practically) impossible to love. And even if you say you love this film, you can't really explain why. “The Black Sheep” has a low rating (higher on IMDB), which doesn't surprise me. But for me, this is exactly the case.
I'm thrilled, guys. Why? I don't know! Without squealing like a pig, but I'm thrilled, and the review will be positive. I don't know the director, I don't know the actors, the plot seems standard for trash (experiments). But you forget about all that when you realize one detail—the main characters are fighting sheep!
Sharks, insects, crocodiles—that's understandable, but to make a sheep into a villain, you really have to try hard. King succeeded. The film came from New Zealand, and the computer graphics were done by the guys who worked on The Lord of the Rings and King Kong.
Get the hint? Beyond the trash, beyond the black humor, what we have here is a genuine tribute. To whom? Peter Jackson! No question about it. I won't remind you of the heresy with which Peter began. Of course, Mr. Jackson (as a director) is several heads above King.
No one will argue with that, but The Foul Sheep brought together all the best of early Jackson. Huge monsters – sure. Insane heresy—please, the hero crawls in a sheep's skin and another one attaches itself to him from behind (we'll smile and keep quiet about the sheep driving a truck). Liters of blood and torn-off limbs—please.
The only thing is, I would have liked more jokes, but overall it looks decent. And anyway, when the heroes are yelled at to get lost, and they respond, “We want to watch!” Ah-ha-ha, I can only applaud. A wonderful movie!
