Tenenbaum and his wife Ethel have three children: Chas, Richie, and Margot. Each of them has gone their own way. Chas began buying real estate as a teenager and discovered a talent for establishing international financial connections. Margot became a playwright and received a $50,000 grant in ninth grade. Richie took up tennis and won the US Open three times. Everything was going well, each of them living their own lives, when suddenly events occurred that turned their whole lives upside down and destroyed them. And the main culprit was their father. This is a story about how a family had to reunite in the face of unexpected difficulties.

For any film buff, director Wes Anderson occupies a special place. And it's not even about his unique style, which becomes more and more flawless with each film, but about the amazing magnetism of his pictures. It would seem that here are the actors, staring sadly into the camera, performing ordinary actions, exchanging sparse, long-worn phrases, but the viewer is already hooked, already empathizing with the characters, and thus becoming for the heroes of the film something like a good friend who does not visit often, but who is always welcome.
This is the simple, everyday magic of cinema—any scene is either hilarious or sad, and this is perceived as a given. In each film, Wes Anderson creates a space filled with unique details that seem ordinary, absolutely beautiful music that unobtrusively creates the atmosphere, and, of course, people who are alive, real, with their talents and flaws.
The uniqueness of each person is perhaps the main theme of all the director's films. Each time, he reiterates one simple thing: every person is an individual, and their individuality is not simple, but strange. Some write books, some try to shield their children from the world, some have been smoking since the age of twelve, and some have been in love since the age of twelve. Some people become terminally ill in order to improve their relationship with their family, some are professional killers, and some are Bill Murray. The whole world is one big Tenenbaum family, in which everyone is a genius in their own way.
And Wes Anderson himself, of course, is part of this family. He knows how to make amazing, unique, enchanting films, and we, the audience, have the gift of falling in love with them. There's nothing we can do about it; that's just how the world works.
