Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein 4K 1948 Ultra HD 2160p
Storyline
The world of freight handlers Wilbur Grey and Chick Young is turned upside down when the remains of Frankenstein's monster and Dracula arrive from Europe to be used in a house of horrors. Dracula awakens and escapes with the weakened monster, who he plans to re-energize with a new brain. Larry Talbot (the Wolfman) arrives from London in an attempt to thwart Dracula. Dracula's reluctant aide is the beautiful Dr. Sandra Mornay. Her reluctance is dispatched by Dracula's bite. Dracula and Sandra abduct Wilbur for his brain and recharge the monster in preparation for the operation. Chick and Talbot attempt to find and free Wilbur, but when the full moon rises all hell breaks loose with the Wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein all running rampant.
User Review
Universal Studios' absurd but unique crossover brought many people's dreams to life, and did so before the studio's second attempt to bring together famous villains in its Dark Universe. Yes, this masquerade is missing the invisible man, who still managed to make an appearance, and the mummy, who didn't fit into this sabbath at all. Abbott and Costello play the roles of Scooby-Doo and Shaggy in the setting of their universe. Abbott is unlucky from the very beginning. After transporting antique exhibits for the House of Horrors, he is the only one who sees the monsters come to life and calls his friend. The latter, rushing over, sees no confirmation of his friend's words and does not recall anything. Abbott's facial expressions and gestures are all transferred to Scooby-Doo, and they literally complement each other in their attempts to portray the monster. Swinging doors behind which enemies are already waiting for them. Abbott tries to remove the mask from the Werewolf at the masquerade ball. What is this if not a ready-made episode for Hannah and Barbara?
To some extent, this is a justification of evil. Here, it is naive and even cute. In our time, we have lost the pathos and cumbersomeness of presenting such stories in an ironic key. The example of the latest mummy with Cruise is a clear confirmation of this. These heroes and antiheroes can only coexist as they do in this film, without the accumulation of tasteless entertainment. Where else can you see an animated Bela Lugosi with his not always effective hypnosis and comical attempts to create a new Frankenstein? The chases and strange friendship of the companions, suspiciously similar to two desperate fighters against evil in the late 1960s.
