Jake is an actor who plays a supporting role in vampire horror movies. One day he comes home from a movie and finds his girlfriend with another man. Jake is forced to find a new place to live.
His acquaintance Frank, also an actor, offers Jake to stay with him while he is away and to look after the house. To keep Jake from getting bored alone, Frank tells him about a little “home” entertainment.
In the building across the street lives Frank's “favorite” neighbor, sexy beauty Gloria, who undresses every evening at an un curtained and well-lit window. Having seen the free striptease with his own eyes, Jake dreams of getting to know the beautiful Gloria personally.
The acquaintance takes place under unusual circumstances, but one evening Jake sees Gloria being killed through the window instead of his favorite show....
But that's not all. Someone hires an actress to replace Gloria and continue the improvised show “behind the glass”.

A Brian De Palma movie that takes an ironic twist on “Vertigo” and “Window to the Courtyard”. A claustrophobic, unsuccessful actor is looking for a place to stay after cheating on his girlfriend. At an acting class, he meets Sam Buchard, who asks him to look after a posh mansion for the next five weeks. The view from the mansion's window is spectacular.
Seventh movie I've seen by this director, and again I'm impressed. Particularly memorable is the half-hour stakeout scene, which, like the rest of the movie's significant scenes, takes my breath away. Besides the tense moments, “Framed Body” has other De Palma specialties, beautiful long shots, charming heroines, unexpected plot twists.
