Outstanding movie. Outstanding because it was shot in the mystery genre, was nominated for an Oscar, and was a phenomenal commercial success. And the movie itself is brilliant.
Immediately I will say a couple of words about the disadvantages of the picture: the second and subsequent viewings are not so 'blown away', as well as there is some drag of the narrative.
And what is the genius of this movie? The idea, its realization and the shocking ending are brilliant. However, at the second and subsequent viewing you are only convinced of the genius of 'The Sixth Sense' (the main merit of this is the direction and script by M. Night Shyamalan). In the end there are a lot of strong moments that make your soul curl up and unfold. The middle of the movie masterfully builds up an atmosphere of mystical horror.
The acting work of Willis and young Osment is very good. The music by James Newton Howard is superb.
A terrific movie that leaves a lasting impression!
P.S. Writing something about the movie, 8 years after its release, is not the best idea, but I think 'The Sixth Sense' deserves another portion of praise: let not only the dry figures of rating ratings and high places in the tops speak in its favor!
