That's about how you can characterize the movie - it seems to be about everything and nothing at the same time. The voiceover immediately sets you up for sleep. Adam Driver's face on the whole screen. The actor himself is very peculiar and with his failures he still manages to fit into the author's movie. Moreover, the actor is really mediocre - how many did not have to watch him paintings, all very unprocessed. Only in chamber dramas he still somehow manages to catch the general mood of the picture, but in the main role, he is not able to pull.

But it was a pleasure to watch Nathalie Emmanuel - the only actress who looked very organically in the frame. Others played as if part-time ... It's very sad that Coppola couldn't really work out the characters to make them interesting to watch and follow the events.

The movie turned out to be a very empty set of thoughts about life, about time, about the future generation, love, power and other lengthy moments. They wanted to show the conflict of different layers of the population, but it turned out very inarticulate. It was strange to learn with such a sluggish narration that the script was written since the 80s. The feeling is that the plot of the movie was made a couple of weeks before filming. Although even for a couple of weeks it was possible to produce something smarter.

The framing is also very lame. Then unexpectedly large shots, then on the contrary fast without any fixation on events. Uninteresting events are shown slowly and stretched, interesting events flicker with the speed of a bullet. The idea of the movie is very vague. First they told about manipulation with time, then the action moved to some harmful resource with universal application, and in the finale everything ended with another banality. Even it was surprising to see such a very primitive picture from the director of 'Dracula', 'The Godfather', 'Apocalypse Now' and other significant films. However, even then the director had failures. But this failure is the most offensive of all. The feeling that everyone was just lazy and wanted to quickly use 100 million dollars - money unheard of and that is not felt in the frame.

Of the annoying moments was also an excessive amount of blatant vulgarity, which does not give the plot anything meaningful. It was frankly unpleasant to watch the actors in such a presentation.

The result was another 2 hours of time wasted. It's a shame that world-renowned actors shoot outright mediocrity for such huge sums.
