The twin brothers Dym and Pepel (such cool names) return to their hometown from Chicago. Where, according to rumors, they did business with Al Capone himself.

Although the Ku Klux Klan has already faded away, the attitude towards black people in the Mississippi Delta is so-so. But the Fire Brothers (also their nickname) are not intimidated by clowns in white hoods who think they are a superior race — they open a bar only for black people, with real Irish beer, Italian wine, American whiskey, and cool blues! Let's party, bro!

Who knew that their cousin's velvety voice and soulful guitar riffs would attract an ancient Irish vampire, who would pick up a banjo and want to play it for them as a farewell.

Forget all the shouting about racism — “look how blacks were treated in the 1930s, even those who shed blood in World War I” — or reverse racism — “of course, a black man made a film about black people and everyone is immediately thrilled.” Forget all that. Because the film is good.

A classic mix à la From Dusk Till Dawn — a group of people survives surrounded by bloodsuckers. But how elegantly staged! Such a harmonious balance, where everything is in moderation: romance, drama, blood, action, and music.

And what music! It's like, what the hell — in a horror movie, a crowd of vampires is dancing Irish dances, and the super-vampire is singing. Is this a musical? Well, it's cool!

Cowboy country, lively Irish dances, and soulful blues. Everything is in its place.

Two hours in, and there's no hint of action or horror, but all these little stories, short but lively dialogues, are not boring at all. And then the vampire action begins, not the bloodiest or most energetic we've seen before, but just enough for this film.

It's not the best horror film or the best vampire action film, but it's worth watching simply because it's beautiful and makes you nod your head in time to the music and tap your fingers to the catchy rhythms. Two hours of visual pleasure.
