Rachel (Bergl) inherited her telekinetic abilities from her father. She is being raised by another family because her sick mother is in a mental hospital. Her mother believes that her daughter's gift comes from the devil. Be that as it may, she was the only one who sensed trouble when her friend committed suicide by jumping off the college roof. The kings of the school were the members of the football team. In their free time from football and studies, they seduced girls and gave each other scores in a special magazine. An underage girlfriend, a virgin, fell victim to one of the jerks. Rachel met Mark, the only decent guy on the team. The young people fell in love. But Mark's despicable “friends” filmed their date and showed it to everyone at a big party celebrating the team's victory. Rachel lost her temper and staged a large-scale telekinesis session with... pyrotechnics. A sea of blood, piles of corpses.

User Review

Strangely enough, I liked the sequel more than the original. Maybe it's just because I didn't compare it to the original book, as I did when watching the first film, but nevertheless, that's how it is.

Like many sequels to successful horror films, this film tries to repeat the first one, while modernizing it a little. It repeats the original film in many ways, but for some reason, this did not spoil my impression of the film. The main drawback of the film is, of course, its connection to the original Carrie. The inserts from the first film looked bad, and Sue, with all her attempts to prevent the tragedy, was completely out of place.

The film begins, as it should, with the main character's childhood. It's surprising that there was no such scene in the original. And then it goes on to be a completely ordinary youth film. Intrigues, football, parties. It goes on like this until the denouement, but I didn't get bored.

And then comes the most interesting part. Everything that was missing from the original film is here. When our heroine is brutally “pranked,” we see genuine laughter and malice from those around her, rather than the couple of forced smiles and sneers from the original film.
The carnage is also fine here. Instead of a couple of incomprehensible murders in the first part, we see a real bloodbath. Mountains of corpses and seas of blood, panic and stampedes. The main character looks quite brutal in all this, unlike the ridiculous-looking girl in the original.
Of course, there are enough flaws here. Such as the excessive youthfulness of what is happening, and the characters are often dull and uninteresting. You also won't find any meaningful messages here. No issues are raised here, unlike in the original, which dealt quite well with the issues of religion and scapegoats.

To sum up, I would say that this is just a horror movie, and if you want something more, then this movie is not for you. Well, that's just my humble opinion.
