Sixteen-year-old Alice Palmer drowns while swimming near a local dam. The police conclude that it was an accident. The family buries her body. Soon, a series of strange and inexplicable events related to the family and their home occur. They are forced to seek help from a psychic and parapsychologist. He discovers that Alice was leading a secret double life. A series of clues leads the family to a local lake, where Alice's secret past is revealed.

User Review

The film is aimed at audiences who are fascinated by all things paranormal from a scientific point of view and all kinds of mysteries. Perhaps that is why it would be more logical to replace the “horror” genre here with “documentary,” since there is really nothing terrifying or blood-curdling to be seen here.

The story of what happened to Alice evokes pity, sadness, and sympathy for her relatives. But the fact that it is based on real events and attracted the attention of reporters—my God, is it really interesting to make scary stories out of every little thing? No one believes in this anymore.

Everything proceeds very passively, without any forward momentum or interesting developments, so you can fall asleep at the beginning of the film. The development of events is also drawn out, since (according to the film's description) Alice's secrets are revealed halfway through the film, but you expect these secrets much earlier. In addition, everything repeats itself: words and actions... They say that something was bothering Alice, and they chew it over for about ten minutes—can listening to the same thing over and over again be interesting? Of course not. I didn't see any acting here. Everyone “played” as one person - boring, emotionless.

The only thing that could more or less intrigue the viewer is the accompaniment of some moments with very tense sound, which involuntarily creates a feeling of some kind of anxiety. Well, the film itself, as I already said, is just a tragic story about how a family lost their daughter and how they cope with this loss.

Perhaps if you believe in the paranormal with all your heart, you will be scared, or at least slightly frightened. But when you are passively sitting in front of the TV, the film is not very interesting, and you simply don't want to watch it, hoping for a horror genre.
