What piqued my interest in this movie was that it’s one of Nicole Kidman’s first roles. It’s really surprising and unusual to see her on screen when she was still just a girl. After all, she was only sixteen at the time.
It’s an entertaining movie that’s completely stress-free and doesn’t make you think. You just relax while watching it. The humor feels a bit corny by today’s standards, but it was typical for those years. Back then, people laughed at jokes like that. The kids ride their bikes really well, and it looks great. But then again, today’s young riders would blow all their predecessors out of the water. Back then, though, it looked much more spectacular.
I liked the soundtrack. It’s like something out of a video game. It fits the film’s concept very well.
Overall, the movie is watchable, but there are some downright silly moments. For example, how can two teenagers—who are barely fifteen—calmly talk about their relationship in a grave at night while hiding from criminals who apparently want to kill them? To me, that’s absurd.
And one more major downside: it drags on way too long. Seriously, way too long! They could have easily cut the ending out.
