Paris, 1899. The famous nightclub “Moulin Rouge” is not only a dance hall and a posh brothel, but also a place where, driven by an irresistible desire to experience the festive atmosphere, those yearning to partake in beauty, freedom, and love—and willing to pay for it in cash—gather. Two men vie for the love of Paris’s most famous courtesan, the dazzling Satine. One is Christian, a poor writer who has plunged headlong into the crazy world of nightlife, and the other a wealthy duke, ready to buy the entire “Moulin Rouge” just so Satine would spend the night with him.
