Sudden Death 4K 1995 Ultra HD 2160p

During the decisive Stanley Cup hockey game, a giant stadium is held hostage by a group of terrorists led by former security officer Powers Booth. In case of refusal or delay in fulfillment of their demands (transfer of a considerable sum of money to various bank accounts), the criminals threaten to blow up the building. To their misfortune, a courageous fireman is among the staff of the sports center, and his children are among the spectators in mortal danger.

The second collaboration between Peter Hyams and Van Damme after 'Time Patrol'. I won't say that this is Jean-Claude's best movie, but it can't be said to be the worst either. First of all, because although the plot is banal to the point of nausea, but the capture of the stadium by terrorists is thought out to the smallest detail, (the capture of Andrew's wife - the chief cook, the penetration of terrorists in the box for honored guests in the guise of waiters, and finally the lightning fast capture of all the guests, including the vice-president) that not every action movie will see.

Secondly, of course, it is Van Damme and Powers Booth. The first at the time of filming was at the height of his popularity and his participation in the movie was already a plus picture. And the second played a rather nasty and charismatic villain, which is quite unpleasant to look at. And finally, thirdly, is Van Damme's appearance in the movie on the ice (in the form of a goalie). I'm sure most of this scene wasn't filmed by him, but still how nice to see him with a stick in his hands.

Well finally, as I wrote in the title, this is the actor's last movie that more or less paid off at the worldwide box office (thanks to sales on videotape). This will be followed by Van Damme's directorial debut and its complete failure, both at the box office and from critics, although I don't think so to the last.
