The Eiger Sanction 4K 1975 Ultra HD 2160p

Jonathan Hemlock is a retired government secret service agent who now works as a teacher at an art college. However, the teacher's salary, of course, is not enough to satisfy his main passion - collecting paintings, so from time to time Jonathan takes on new secret missions.

The new mission is one of the most dangerous of his career. He must “calculate” and destroy the spy who is in the mountaineering group. To do this, he will have to climb the dangerous Eiger Peak in the Swiss Alps together with everyone else....

“Why do you think these people climb, Mr. Bowman, to show how brave they are or to overcome their inferiority complexes?

- Madam, don't you think you'd better find a good man...it would do you good.”

Despite the title, this is not a climbing movie. The attempted climb takes up only the last 30 minutes and centers on a detective collision. Otherwise, it's a typical adventure movie with tough men - loners, beautiful (albeit few with a service function) women, spies, spectacular filming and quality stunts. The bad characters are all flawed freaks, cowards, whores and homosexuals. There are no second meanings.

Clint Eastwood here is most reminiscent of Humphrey Bogart in the super-pops treatment, of which he is, to some extent, a follower. But the picture is memorable not so much for the acting or the plot (which is not without surprises), but for the entourage of the “hairy” 70's and John Williams's great voice-over tunes. There's also a comical scene in which a bad character's doggy performs acts of a sexual nature on Eastwood's character's leg.

At “Sanctions...” has, but a special appeal, inherent in most commercial target projects of those times associated with a clear genre unipolarity, which is clearly lacking in modern action movies, more like melodramas.
