Decided to watch this movie after watching the series from Netflix. The idea is extremely interesting. The train is an allusion to the structure of modern society. The rich live in the head of the train. They have everything - food, sunlight, entertainment, comfort and safety. The middle of the train is the middle class. They cater to the rich, they do not starve, but they are not lavish either. The decorations are darker, the food is less, and the entertainment is the most primitive. And then there's the tail end of the train. The scum. The unlucky ones in this celebration of life. No matter what they do, things don't work out. They've tried rioting and protesting. It's no use. The outcome is the same, the order does not change. And here the main character played by Chris Evans tries once again to change something. He courageously rushes to the head of the train, where Wilford, the creator and driver of the train, that would get even with him for all the hardships of tailers (those who live in the tail of the train). But on his way he discovers such secrets of this train, its orders, manners and views that it is simply impossible to remain the same idealist.

Did the director accurately convey the world order of our society? Yes. Being born poor it is very hard to go up the social ladder, at each stage you have to fight for your place under the sun. And if you reach the top, will you be able to improve the lives of those who are left in the tail, or nothing will change.

Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton played their roles beautifully. Before this movie I saw Chris in youth comedies and in the role of Captain America. Here he also showed himself to be a great dramatic actor. Tilda is wonderful in every movie. Her reincarnation as a caretaker supervisor is just great. She is literally unrecognizable in this role.

In summary, if you watched the series, I definitely recommend the movie. It is tougher, darker, more realistic. If you watched the movie, it's better not to watch the series. There everything on Netflix licked. The actors are clean, neat, and well-fed. You can't believe it's a starving tail. The movie is much more naturalistic. You feel the filth and the stench and the hopelessness.
