The main character is an ordinary black woman working in a hospital. An unpleasant event with her 11-year-old sister, who became a victim of big drug lords, make the woman realize that justice has long left this city, and she decides to stop all criminal activity herself. But what can one woman do against an entire organized network?

This movie, a true classic of blackploitation. Black mobsters, luxury cars of the 70s, music and other things create a unique atmosphere of the criminal period of America. It so happens that in the center of all this was a simple black woman disappointed in justice. At first ordinary revenge soon makes her realize many things, feel victimized and abandoned by everyone. But is Coffy 'broken'? No. Despite her charm, the heroine Pam Grier shows herself to be a natural 'boy-baby', ready for almost anything.

In fact, from the beginning to the end of the movie, literally, hooks almost everything: a variety of characters - whether it is an incorruptible but kind policeman, or a perverted drug lord, all of them do not resemble each other, plus here hooks 'dialogues' and situations in which the protagonist finds herself. Looking at all this, it's not hard to realize that this was further inspired by the famous Quentin Tarantino.

The movie is not particularly rich in action, but it is not sinful, as the dialogs here are quite wonderful and perfectly reveal the essence of not only the characters, but also the time. In addition, the main interest, of course, is Pam Grier, who, as I think, played one of the best roles in her career. Her character is kind to her loved ones, but incredibly cruel to her enemies, and when we are shown moments where Pam is left alone with her enemies, and we can see how she is fighting for life, we can only admire the incredible will of this woman.

The acting here is quite entertaining, although the first place here, undoubtedly, will remain Pam Grier, she can keep company and Sid Haig, who played a rather brutal bandit.

'Coffy' is a classic movie, a trove of Tarantino's ideas, and overall quite an entertaining and interesting movie. The action, the main character, the rest of the characters, the dialogs and situations all come together to make a great blend of this movie.
