So, as expected, the producers decided to milk John Wick's story for all it was worth: the last few installments were no longer needed, so they decided to launch a parallel story with characters from the same universe, and they even announced a fifth installment.
But for now, we'll focus on the story of the characters from the universe, namely a certain Eva, who was orphaned as a child by evil people in uniform, after which she joins a similar team and later, of course, sets out to take revenge on her tormentors. The plot structure is impossibly banal. I won't reveal any plot secrets, but I can say that it's unlikely to surprise you with any twists and turns — everything else in the film is also quite predictable.
Of course, it is worth noting Ana de Armas, who played the main character. She looks good with all these fights, jumps, cool guns, fire, and shots. That is, in general, she looks quite natural on screen. But it's also worth acknowledging that a lot (as in her other films) is down to her charm, which is simply irresistible.
As for all kinds of epic moments of confrontation, shootouts, and the like, there is, as you can imagine, plenty of that in the film. If only because that's what this universe is based on. The main problem with Ballerina (as with the latest Wick films, for that matter) is that the amazing atmosphere that captivated the viewer seems to have disappeared without a trace. And the film has turned into a generally good, but fairly standard action movie, in which even the charming phrase “Are you moving in?” has lost all its sophistication.
