To spite her husband, she decides to ruin his life's work and signs a new coach, Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis), an American simpleton who has achieved decent results in amateur football during his short career. American football, that is. The kind they call football in the US, as opposed to British soccer, where twenty-two players without helmets chase a perfectly round ball. But Lasso is ready for the challenge: taking his loyal bearded assistant (Brendan Hunt) with him, he arrives in England to raise the club to the top. And immediately begins to suffer all kinds of ridicule from the press, players, and fans, who perceive him as a stupid jester. The situation becomes more critical with each passing day, but the good-natured mustachioed Ted seems to have a strategy and he is determined to stick to it.
