The plot of the movie tells about a rescue mission. A ship with armed astronauts flies to the planet Morganthus to find their lost colleagues. The spaceship is discovered, and not far from it - a pyramid, built clearly not by humans. The members of the expedition are subsequently attacked by terrible monsters, and everything ends badly.

The old science fiction movies had a certain charm, a mixture of simplicity and genius. It consisted in the fact that most of the work was done by people, whether it was a predator from the movie of the same name or the keeper of the crypt from the wonderful “Tales from the Crypt”, and special effects were what gave these characters their flavor and forcing the viewer if not to believe in what is happening on the screen, then at least empathize with the main characters. But times have changed and special effects came to replace people in monster suits. With their arrival there was no feeling of complete immersion in the movie, there was no magic that made fiction truly alive and this genre has turned into another version of entertainment movies. Of course, sometimes there are interesting sci-fi movies with philosophical undertones and good acting, but today we will talk about a movie from the distant eighties.

“Galaxy of Terror” is positioned as another clone of ‘Alien’, which is fundamentally wrong. This movie is quite independent and quite original. It tells about a rescue expedition that went to an unknown planet and faced its own fears inside the pyramid of the “ancients”. And taking into account that the crew counts as many as nine people, the monsters, generated by human fears, will have a place to unfold. Unfortunately, not without a spoonful of tar - the logic of the main characters' behavior is lame on both legs. Although, everything can be written off to the pyramid towering on the planet. Who knows what else the spawn of evil genius of aliens can do besides inflicting fears on passers-by? In general, the movie is quite good, of course, not a masterpiece, but from the movies of category b this and do not expect. With an interesting idea, the essence of which will be revealed in the last ten minutes of the movie, and not written off to the fact that these are aliens, and they can do everything. With a good cast, one Robert “Kruger” Englund is worth it. And a short runtime. Just the thing to pass the evening, drinking hot chocolate and remembering the past.
