Kai, a former ally of Yip Man, resides in the spirit world, where he has gathered the life force (Chi) of all deceased kung fu masters, including Yip Man's own Chi. In this way, he has gained enough power to return to the world of the living and take the Chi of all living kung fu masters. Po and his friends will once again have to save China from the most serious threat they have ever faced.

About the film

I love this franchise! Great humor, great fights, impressive attention to detail, and an amazing atmosphere of ancient China with a really powerful exploration of Chinese culture. It's no surprise that Kung Fu Panda was also a hit in China, and the cartoon's success there was so overwhelming that the third installment was released in a separate Chinese version so that the lip movements would better match the Chinese speech.

I love it when creators love their brainchild, and in Kung Fu Panda, this has always been evident. Actors, artists, animators, screenwriters, directors — everyone always gave their all to create something special that could make you laugh, cry, and sometimes learn an important life lesson. Perhaps that is why the sequel was not a pale parody of the original, but rather an independent film that was no less wonderful and complemented the first part organically. And the third part was no exception.

The plot continues to tell the story of Po, finally telling us about his homeland and his father (by the way, the dynamics of the relationship between the goose father and the panda father are perhaps the most enjoyable part of the film). In the third part, Po is about to become a teacher, and, more importantly, he has to answer the most important question: who is he? The excellent staging of the action scenes is still there, and watching the fights on screen is a pleasure, as always. Hans Zimmer's epic music helps you immerse yourself in the action even more, and the signature visualization of Eastern martial arts is more mesmerizing than ever! The graphics didn't disappoint either, and this is probably the most beautiful film in the entire trilogy. And, of course, you'll be laughing throughout the entire film, as Po hasn't changed and is still fooling around as much as ever. I've always loved Kung Fu Panda because it doesn't try to make you laugh by any means necessary, it's just really funny! That's very cool!

The only downside to this film, in my opinion, is the villain. It's not that he's completely useless; he's certainly menacing and impressive, but I didn't really understand his motivation to conquer everything and everyone. Kung Fu Panda has always been famous for its well-developed villains. Compared to Tai Lung or Lord Shen, Kai seems rather one-dimensional.

Conclusion

The first part was excellent, the second part was no worse (if not better), so what about the third part? The third part is in no way inferior to its predecessors and gives this trilogy a perfect ending, after which you wish there was no fourth part... not because I'm tired of the Dragon Warrior's adventures, but simply because this trilogy is so amazingly complete, and the story of Po's development and growth as a kung fu master, told over the course of three films, is so good that the creators have already squeezed everything they could out of it, giving us one of the most memorable, funny, and touching trilogies Hollywood has ever seen. Bravo! SKIDYSHCH! Let's go grab some pelmeni.
