The 80s of the last century is the period of formation of such a legendary personality as Jackie Chan on the acting and directing field. While everyone was waiting for a star like Bruce Lee to rise on the horizon, another Chinese star was quietly emerging, just like Jackie Chan. He did not choose as his main genre kung-fu-martial arts, he created an outlandish symbiosis of comedy kung-fu-martial arts with an incredibly pleasant hero - a nice, kind master of martial arts with dizzying stunt stunts, koi performed always himself, and mesmerizing fights: fast-paced and colorful.
In fact, the first such appearance of the hero Jackie Chan in the genre of film, which will be associated only with him, occurred in 1983, with the release of the tape 'Project A', after a short period of time, Jackie again shows us a favorite image in the films 'Diner on Wheels' (1984), “Police Story” (1985) and ‘Armor of God’ (1986) - note that once a year Jackie Chan presents us a good movie with a Chinese mentality, and in 1987 returned to the ‘Project A’, releasing the second part, where again he and the director and performer of the main role.
For many, 'Project A: Part 2' is an absolutely identical sequel in terms of the quality of its predecessor. Jackie's character - a law enforcer nicknamed Dragon (well!) is still dashing with his enemies, fighting with his bare hands and coming out victorious. The film, not devoid of Jackie's inherent comedy, also pleases the eye and its fights, serious opponents in the fights and colorful stunts.
But personally I missed some of my favorite characters from the first part of 'Project A' - Sammo Hung Kam-Bo and Yuen Biao (but, however, there is Mars, but he is very little). It was more fun with him. However, Bill Tung, who played Jackie's direct boss, was able to replace them a little, but not to such an extent to replace them completely. The main antagonist in the movie, played by David Lam on the one hand and is not so bad, he clearly causes a persistent antipathy, but the leader of the pirates from the first part seemed to be a much more dangerous opponent for the Dragon, which takes away a few points from Lam. The appearance of a second storyline, with actresses Maggie Cheung and Rosamund Kwan as the main participants, introduced more confusion than a distinct and complementary main storyline.
Based on the last paragraph of the review, you could say that this is drawing analogies to the first part, and yes it is, I explained why I liked the first part better. Taking into account all the rest of the above, we can understand that 'Project A: Part 2' is another classic movie from the legendary Jackie Chan. He is true to himself. The movie lures attention. Nowadays, for teenagers the picture will leave in the memory of bewilderment, but for those who lived in the 90s and liked to rewatch movies with Jackie Chan time after time and admire his skills, this picture is another confirmation of originality and brightness of his personality.
