In Ancient Egypt, women used to smear their skin with ointments of strange production to preserve their beauty, it is even scary to think what they were made of. In the modern world, not much has changed. Here still: the same dubious ointments, as well as plastic surgery, which can not only help, but also disfigure a person.

Worth the age of the girl to approach the terrible mark “40” panic began. Tons bought tons of various creams-gels-tonics, many jumped under the surgeon's knife. And all for what? To remain forever young, beautiful, loved by her husband, who clearly would like to see next to him a long-legged beauty, not youthful aunt.

The heroine of the black comedy Robert Zemeckis - Madeline Ashton (Streep), also wanted to be young. After all, it is the struggle for the poor hero Bruce Willis, brought two former girlfriends to such a thing. Actually, this is one of the strangest of his roles, the one where he finally showed that he can play not only “tough nuts”, but also quite “earthy” hlupikov. It is still considered to be one of the most unexpected images ever played on the screen. That Meryl Streep is a brilliant actress is undeniable. I have seen not so many movies with her so far, but believe me in all of them she was different, no repetition, completely “lived” her role. Goldie Hawn, the most popular actress of the 70's - 80's, looked here quite to the place.

Very professionally shown the confrontation of the two friends, how first they hurt each other, and then the common “trouble” they still brought closer. In general, in this movie everything is perfect: the actors, and the wonderful direction, the talented director Zemeckis, and the original script, such a phenomenon, especially in our modern times, is quite rare. And what are the dialogues of the main actresses worth! “You're a walking lie, Helen, and I can see right through you!” "We have to take care of each other. "I paint your ass, you paint mine. Who could have imagined...” and so on, worthy phrases for any quote book.

In conclusion, I can only say, “Death to Her Face” is one of the best, black comedies of the 20th century.
