Elwood P. Wood, a man who revels in his own eloquence, is so kind that his kindness overwhelms the lives of everyone around him. One evening, Elwood returns home and sees a huge rabbit, two meters tall, named Harvey, leaning against a lamppost.

Invisible to everyone else, Harvey becomes his friend and follows him everywhere, greatly disturbing Elwood's family. His relatives believe that Elwood has finally gone mad and should be put in an asylum.

Mary Chase adapted her Broadway play for the screen herself, and the comedy turned out to be a wonderful, kind fantasy that was loved by millions of viewers.

A film with great humor. With wonderful characters. Despite the fact that most of them try to harm the main character, Elwood P. Dowd, in some way. Watching what is happening on the screen, you realize that no matter what happens to the main character, everything will be fine. Even though he stands out from ordinary people with his imaginary friend, his good manners, and his respect for others. And this idea is well portrayed in the film—every person should remain true to themselves! No matter what imaginary friends he may have. But, unfortunately, in the real world there are many people like Elwood P. Dowd who, for some reason, see the world around them in a completely different way — and not everyone understands that they may be more normal than all of us put together and that the white rabbit really does exist...

P.S. I laughed sincerely at the jokes “I'm not hiding him, and I'm not afraid of you either.” “I thought you were dead!” “No, I'm still very much alive!” and others.

The film is recommended for a pleasant evening with a cup of hot tea, a small cake, and a blanket.
