Oh, how I love movies with this kind of theme! Ever since I saw Who Are You, Mr. Brooks? starring Kevin Costner, I consider the day I get the chance to watch a movie about the psychology of murderers a holiday. There are so many films about who kills, why and how, whom and for what purpose, but only a few of them give the viewer an understanding of what is going on in the killer's mind at that moment. What does a maniac think about? What is the cause of his illness? Of course, films of this kind are only an interpretation of the screenwriter's vision, not a psychology manual, but given the scarcity of such films, they are of extreme interest to me.

By mentioning Bruce Evans' film above, I was by no means giving potential viewers a hint about what Reb Braddock's film Curdled is like. It's hard to compare it to anything else! It's extremely original, emotional, vivid, and extraordinary! If you are even remotely interested in the subject matter I mentioned above, if you miss high-quality black humor, which the film has in abundance, or if you just want to enjoy a light thriller with a touch of psychological depth, featuring inimitable music and acting, then I am happy to tell you that you've found what you were looking for!

It's a shame that we've only had the opportunity to see Angela Jones in so few films, but I can assure you that this is clearly one of her best roles! She was incomparable! I will say the same about William Baldwin. However, since it would be inappropriate to write the same sentence twice, I will express myself differently than “this is his best role”. I will say that he has never pleased me so much! An American, aged between 30 and 40 (which he was at the time), with sunken eyes and a broad chin — the spitting image of a serial killer! When he poured out his soul, if he had one, to Gabrielle, I was genuinely scared to look into his eyes... One of the most memorable acting duos of 1996. It's worth watching!

What kind of dark humor are we talking about if the film is about two maniacs? I was shocked myself! Tarantino's co-authorship of the script makes itself felt: meaningful dialogues, psychological insight, and humor in pools of blood! Just look at the moment when Quentin appears in the film (fans of From Dusk Till Dawn will be pleasantly surprised). I laughed even in those episodes when I should have been screaming, “Oh, the horror!”. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one... That's what it's designed for! Following the traditional “maestro” recipe, the film features magnificent music. After watching the film, I listened to the soundtrack over and over again for a long time. It's not overly cheerful, considering the subject matter, but this contrast is actually quite pleasing!

I don't think you need any more reasons to watch it. The name of one of the screenwriters, the amazing acting duo, the unforgettable atmosphere, the magnificent music and plot, even a brief description of which on the film's page is already intriguing. I strongly recommend trying this film “to taste,” because it is very difficult to describe the bacchanalia of what is happening in words! The film really makes an impression and is unlikely to leave you indifferent. To prepare yourself for the upcoming contrast, I suggest watching the short film 29 g. “Andalusian Dog”, set to the song Cumbia De Surf, which is played twice in the film “Curdled”...
