Familiarity with movies from a bygone era, and in terms of cinema proper, several eras back, often brings unpredictable results. In some places, the movies shine with a clearly outdated picture, which today catches the eye; in other places they seem naive, but this time, the picture turned out to be not only well staged, interesting, but also containing psychosocial and psychosexual subtexts.
And let at first sight the story of a closed and not too loving people meat factory worker is simple, slow, but in the process and aftertaste leaves a clear trace of reflection, feelings. The protagonist in an ordinary conflict starts a chain of brutal murders by accident, beginning to realize the complexities of disposing of bodies and emotions only by the middle of the time period. At the same time, seemingly quite inappropriately, a young man tries to start a relationship with him, already in the process revealing his interest in men. The tangle is tied up in an agonizing psychological brew, which is the reason for the very protracted (seemingly) and slow pace. Psychologically, one can immediately distinguish the struggle between responsibility and fear, principle and weakness, swinging the protagonist to the left and to the right. scenes of painful inner feeling with soup from factory meat and a bag pressed against itself from the patsaniya on the street are very revealing. That's where the second line comes in, of unconventionally oriented love, and actually understanding and acceptance. Could it have happened that the protagonist fondly recalls a walk with a man, outside of this situation? Is there a real feeling in this? Is this normal for a man, and what is normal about it? Who can really understand you and what awakens inside the outside sincere participation?
Already from the first scene, which could have been dispensed with, hiding under the veil of 'behind the door' cruelty, which is not the central motive, it is worth noting the quality of camerawork and director's staging. Each new crime is like art - no, it is not savored in the spirit of slashers, but has a mood, rhythm, effktnosti. All the murder scenes are shot perfectly. A couple of bed scenes, it should be noted, conditioned by the flow of the plot of the movie also do not slip into low categories. The actors are diligent and if not perfect (mostly female roles), they are convincing. Most of the problems are with the dialog staging, where the motivations don't suffer, which is surprising, but their content is at times highly questionable.
In the dry balance: and by the current times not badly shot, simple and effective inhuman drama, most likely not for fans of thriller or blood.
