The General's Daughter 4K 1999 Ultra HD 2160p

About a tragic story that took place in the U.S. Army. A military investigator must find the killer of the daughter of a high-ranking general, a contender for the vice-presidential post in the upcoming elections. Seven years ago, a father forced his daughter, who was training at West Point, to keep silent about her brutal beating and rape during a field training exercise. The bastards went unpunished. This affected the girl's psyche and changed her attitude towards her father. She became promiscuous in sex. Compromising videotapes were found by an investigator and his assistant in a secret room of her house. The girl, who served in her father's unit as a captain in the Psychological Assessment and Rehabilitation Center, was found on the beachhead completely naked and crucified on the ground with a noose around her neck. The grief-stricken general, worried about his future political career, asked that the investigator do his duty as a soldier, not as a servant of the law. And he does.

One night I completely accidentally switched to the channel that was showing this movie. The first thing that didn't make me switch on was John Travolta. His acting in this movie is just phenomenal, from start to finish. The second major component of this movie is the storyline. There are two of them here - a murder investigation, the main line, and a secondary one - the relationship between two detectives, former lovers. And both the first and the second are written and played out masterfully. It's one of the best pairings I've ever seen. It all looks very dynamic, because the actions of the picture take place literally in two days.

In general, in its genre of detective-drama the movie is almost unique. And also, a hint - try during the movie at least once to outplay the scriptwriter.
