Over the Top 4K 1987 Ultra HD 2160p
Truck driver Lincoln Hawk, nicknamed Hawk, is driving to Las Vegas for the world arm wrestling championship. He has a lot on his mind: he needs to meet and talk to his ex-wife, who is dying of a strange heart disease; he must visit his beloved father-in-law, breaking down the gate and dealing with the bodyguards, and at all costs get his son, who was abandoned 10 years ago. The son, who initially rejected his father, will become Hawk's support and help him win the championship.
User Review
In 1987, one of the coolest films starring Sylvester Stallone was released. After watching Over the Top, I was left with the fondest memories and impressions of the film, as I am a fan of arm wrestling myself. The film is very ambiguous, as it combines various genres: action, drama, and simply a film for family viewing. Of course, the main point of the film is that under no circumstances should you give up and throw in the towel when listening to the mockery of others. This is precisely the role that Stallone was supposed to play in the film directed by Menahem Golan.
Speaking of the plot, I can't say anything bad about it, as it is quite adequate for understanding. I won't retell the film, as anyone who wants to see it will watch it themselves. The magnificent performances not only of Sylvester but also of other actors: Robert Loggia, Rick Zumwalt, and David Mendenhall add an extra positive quality to the film. There weren't many special effects in the film, which is justified by the time when it was shot.
The director's main goal is to convey to the viewer that thanks to willpower, love for one's family, and simple perseverance, even the most unlucky and pessimistic person is capable of achieving incredible success and results, which is reflected in Over the Top. In general, to put it simply, the film made a big impression on me, and I sincerely recommend it to people who are not looking for blood and gore or something special in films.
