The film is based on a true story. Erin (Julia Roberts) is an energetic, impulsive, and emotionally raw beauty, a former Miss Wichita, twice divorced with two children, looking for work. She has no education, but she has courage, natural intelligence, and determination. When her car is hit by a Jaguar, Erin is taken on as a client by Ed Matrick (Albert Finney), a lawyer who lost a case in court due to his client's rude behavior. Erin forces the lawyer to hire her, and, taking on one of his cases, she takes on a huge corporation whose products are poisoning the environment. The victims are families living in the area of contaminated water bodies: hundreds of people have fallen ill with cancer from poisoning. Erin takes action.

In my opinion, this is one of Steven Soderbergh's best directorial works and Julia Roberts' best role!

The incomparable Julia Roberts is magnificent as always, perfectly and precisely portraying Erin Brockovich as a determined, fearless, beautiful, resilient, intelligent, moderately sharp, charming, and talented woman. Albert Finney played his role perfectly, masterfully portraying lawyer Ed Masry. Aaron Eckhart and the child actors looked harmonious on screen. But Julia is still the queen, she is No. 1. The real Erin Brockovich! Beautiful and determined!
