The Young and the Damned 1950

Pedro and Jaibo are teenagers living in the most appalling slum in Mexico City, ravaged by countless diseases. Jaibo is older; he has already figured out his values in life, and his selfish, spiteful nature allows him to take advantage of those less fortunate than himself. After escaping from prison, he immediately takes control of a gang of kids hanging out on the streets. Under his leadership, they commit senseless acts of violence—not for money, but for the pleasure of seeing the weak suffer. Pedro—who still looks like a child, and in whose innocent eyes you can still see a spark of kindness that you won’t find in others—wants more than anything to follow Zhaibo’s example and please him.
