Frank Galvin used to be a good lawyer. But his friendship with the bottle didn’t lead to anything good. And now he’s a legal consultant at a funeral home. His former colleague, Mickey Morrisey, who hasn’t forgotten Frank’s talents, passes him an interesting case. It’s a chance to get back on his feet and try to find a worthy place in life. A young woman who received anesthesia during childbirth has become bedridden and seriously ill. Her relatives want to sue a reputable Boston hospital and the church it belongs to in order to obtain compensation for the physical and emotional harm caused. Frank is convinced that the defendant is at fault, but they will never admit to medical malpractice...
