Storyline
Jeffrey Desange, senior partner of an investment brokerage, has a breakdown after a financial collapse and kills several co-workers and his estranged wife and kidnaps his two young daughters, Victoria and Lily. When they're found five years later, they're taken in by their uncle (their father's twin brother) and his girlfriend. Macabre events soon make the new guardians suspect that a supernatural evil force named Mama has attached itself to the girls.

Guillermo shows us, again and again, high-quality and deeply moving imagery. The eternal conflict between the masculine and feminine principles is heightened to the extreme here, striking straight to the heart and the nerves.

Once again, it shows and proves the destructive influence of the masculine principle. The infernal feminine principle, ready even for mystical exercises in order to experience the feeling of motherhood again, evokes a feeling of compassion and understanding of the irreplaceable pain of loss.
