This tale tells the story of Tess, a dark-skinned woman who arrives in Detroit for a business meeting. She rents a small house in a deserted suburban neighborhood, but as luck would have it, she finds a wide-eyed young man in the place she booked, who claims he, too, has rented the apartment for those dates—just like the main character. Tess agrees to stay the night, but the next day she finds a secret passage in the basement that harbors terrifying secrets...

A dark psychological horror film that escalates into a bloody spectacle by the end—it’s best not to know anything about it or watch the trailer, so you can enjoy the movie even more. The director masterfully blends multiple genres: from horror to darkly playful, absurd, and comical moments, all perfectly integrated into the concept of the unfolding performance.

The plot is divided into several parts, with the narrative told from the perspectives of different characters. Thanks to this approach, each new story draws the viewer deeper and deeper into the labyrinthine dungeons (both literally and figuratively) toward a terrifying revelation. The filmmakers deserve praise for a clever screenplay, skillfully woven into a cohesive whole, where every element or detail of the film complements and advances the story.

On the one hand, it’s a somewhat predictable film, in that we understand from the start that the house poses a threat, that the basement is full of secrets, and that the main characters clearly shouldn’t stay there; yet at the same time, the film disorients the viewer with its twists and turns.
On the other hand, with all the obvious setup in place, the atmosphere becomes increasingly tense, heightening anxiety and evoking an unpleasant sense of vulnerability and fear.

Ultimately, it can be called a worthy representative of the horror genre with an original approach, where several genres coexist harmoniously.
