After a six-year break, Mylene Farmer triumphantly returned to the stage, giving a series of concerts in famous La Defense Arena. The program includes much-loved hits and also songs from the new album Desobeissance ('Defiance').

I won't warn you about spoilers, because anyone who hasn't seen Milen Farmer 2019 at the movies will never see it again. It's the only one. It was hard to see the giant screen because of the tears, but what I could see was masterpiece. Right from Archive's 'Erase', which played five minutes into the concert. You know, like Kylie's 'Aphrodite', like Madonna's 'Confessions on the Dancefloor', so Milen has this concert.

Impressive stage design, screens hanging above the audience, a moving structure on the ceiling, Milen descends in a huge ring to the roar of the crowd, goes on stage, turns around and the best and most powerful song of Milen begins, as if specially created to open every concert with it - 'Antersteller'.

Naturally, I had listened to the live album many times before the screening and was aware of how much the arrangements had changed, but in the hall it all sounded somehow special, as if you were actually at a concert, only you were not jumping up and down in the crowd shouting in different voices to see a tiny figure of Mylene in the distance, but sitting in a comfortable chair and enjoying the close-ups, very close-ups, gigantic plans.

First up, 'California'. The arrangement has become more instrumental, more melodic, which is not the case with 'L'am Strum-Gram', which on the contrary turned into a harder and rockier one, a la Rammstein. After the dynamic and spectacular dance interlude the lyrical part started, which was finished by the incredibly beautiful 'Innamoramento'. I remember these compositions very well from the 'Milenium Tour' in March of 2000. Now the arrangements have changed considerably, but for the better. I like it when an artist is not treading on the ground, but moving in the right direction.

My son got a kick out of 'Sun Contrefason', and there was also a longer version, and the audience was singing along. When we listened to the live album beforehand, we were always laughing with him, as after the word 'chameleon' Milen makes this funny laugh, and then I turn my head and look and he has tears in his eyes. I think he's the only kid in our town who not only knows and loves it, but can sing along to Milen. And then my favorite, 'Stories of the buttocks' - just peerless, with those fancy figures in the background. As my son put it after the concert: “I didn't like the lemon man number. You know, right at the beginning of the song, this figure with the inflated torso. I was delighted, of course.

In 'Desanshant', the dancers in minimalistic tight suits complemented the performance perfectly, as well as in the rest of the songs. You should have seen the eyes of the audience when a huge pedestal flew off the stage and hovered over their heads. And, of course, Milen on the throne during the song 'I return your love' looked very impressive.

I was a bit surprised that there was no 'Desobeisans', it's a bit strange to watch a concert in support of a new album without the title song, but all my other favorites were presented in full.

Still, for me, the best album will remain 'Antersteller'. The songs from it perfectly intertwined with new and updated old ones. It turned out to be a flawless concert in every sense.
