Dracula Sucks 4K 1978
Dracula Sucks (1978) is an erotic horror film about Count Dracula's arrival at a mansion next to a psychiatric clinic, where patients begin to behave strangely and are found with mysterious bites on their necks. Professor Van Helsing tries to stop the outbreak of vampirism while Dracula hunts for the beautiful Mina. In the 4K version, the film returns to its original director's cut format, emphasizing the atmosphere of the late 1970s and explicit scenes.
User Review
Dracula Sucks is a fun and unexpectedly stylish hybrid of vampire horror and adult cinema, which looks stunning in 4K UHD from Vinegar Syndrome: the grainy scan from 35mm negative conveys all the gothic atmosphere of castles, fog, and bloody shadows with incredible detail and color balance. The plot follows the classic — Dracula (the excellent Jamie Gillis) seduces and bites victims in a clinic, but with humor, parodies of Lugosi, and a bunch of explicit scenes that don't overshadow but complement the absurd charm. It's not a masterpiece, and the pace sometimes slows down, but for fans of exploitation and 4K restorations, this niche film from the 70s is a must-watch; the grain, makeup, and costumes come to life on the big screen. I recommend it to fans of cult horror movies with a twist!
