Motel Hell 4K 1980 Ultra HD 2160p
Vincent and his sister Ida own a roadside motel as well as a well-regarded sausage-making business. When asked for the recipe for their delicious smoked meat, Vincent says it dates back to his grandmother, who loved to smoke anything that moved. But the grandson has taken his grandmother’s passion to the extreme. It turns out that at night, Vincent and Ida beat the tourists staying at the motel half to death, then bury them alive in their garden so that only their heads remain above ground. They smoke them with fragrant smoke, fatten them up, and after some time, the corpses become the raw material for their famous smoked meat...
4K Movie Review
If *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre* met a commercial for farm products, this is exactly the movie you’d get. *Motel Hell* is a strange bird: on the one hand, it’s a typical video-store-era cannibal horror film; on the other, it’s almost a social satire on the American dream of owning one’s own business. Vincent Smith isn’t a villain in the usual sense: he’s a workaholic, a family man, believes in the quality of his products, and genuinely loves his job. The only problem is the raw materials.
Rory Calhoun creates one of the genre’s most memorable antiheroes—an uncle you’d have a beer with on the porch, never suspecting that you’re next on the menu. The scenes with the “garden” (victims buried up to their necks, fed through a funnel) are both terrifying and comical. And the chainsaw finale is pure, undiluted ’80s madness that’s impossible to forget.
