The 1987 film 'Delirium' was one of Lamberto Bava's most explicit and brutal films, literally crossing over in common motifs with Lastig's 'Maniac'. 'Delirium' is a story of madness and, as strange as it may sound, tempestuous love, which became the catalyst for the beginning of the bloody wheel. However, the script does not offer the viewer any pity towards the maniac; everything only seems to be a statement of the fact of madness and the place of analysis is taken by a typical and spectacular plot intrigue in the tradition of the best examples of giallo. This movie, despite the harshness of the subject matter, remains very well-balanced and coherent, to the credit, of course, of the directorial talent of Lamberto Bava.

Operator Gianlorenzo Battaglia fascinates the viewer with the coldness and frankness of the visuals, saturating the film with extremely violent and eroticized scenes, capturing the atmosphere of madness.

Among the acting works of the film we would like to emphasize the excellent performance of Darius Nicolodi, George Eastman and David Brandon, who managed to embody the most integral and interesting images in this film.

The soundtrack by composer Simon Boswell does not dissonate with the video sequence of the picture, sounding beautiful and stylish in its tension.

To all connoisseurs of giallo and the work of director Lamberto Bava, I highly recommend this dark and erotic movie.
