Storyline
Two years after M3GAN's rampage, her creator, Gemma, resorts to resurrecting her infamous creation in order to take down Amelia, the military-grade weapon who was built by a defense contractor who stole M3GAN's underlying tech.

The creators of M3GAN decided to play Cameron and shoot a sequel to the successful horror film in the form of an action movie. But they strayed too far from the original. Yes, the first film had some buffoonery, overacting by the actors, and other comical moments. But there was very little of that. There were also clueless programmers and conversations about the dangers of new technologies. It was a vivid, contrasting picture. But the film kept everything in proportion to the horror genre and a little bit of thriller.

In the second part, everything became a comedic spy action movie. The killer androids are now cuddly. This is done to suit the plot, in which they hunt down a real threat to humanity. At the same time, the androids are now characters. They have motives, beliefs, and principles. A complete shift in emphasis. And coupled with the now constant overacting of absolutely caricatured characters, bright images, and a general decrease in the level of seriousness, I conclude that the studio dug up the script for “Spy Kids N” somewhere and attached it to the sequel to M3GAN.

I also draw this conclusion because the atmosphere here is similar. It's just that before, serious and responsible parents equipped secret shelters themselves, and now a responsible AI does everything for irresponsible parents. It takes care of the finances, development, and construction of a real bunker with an android production workshop, right in your basement.

And none of this is a disadvantage. You just have to understand that this is a very far-fetched sequel. Somewhere in a parallel universe, M3GAN 2.0 was given an R rating and allowed to play with leather bags. But in our universe, you have to watch the second part separately from the first. Even though the characters are the same.

And I can't help but add that the dance number, the song, and the wonderful appearance of M3GAN herself, just one step below the uncanny valley, and her choreography - everything is done at a decent level that does not cause rejection.

On the downside, there are some very simple and silly jokes, and the continuation of the theme of the danger of AI for all humans. The former could have been made more interesting, and the latter could have been left as caricatured references to the present day and removed from this film.
