Now You See Me: Now You Don't 4K 2025 Ultra HD 2160p
Details of the illusionists' new adventures are still being kept secret. But we already know that the actors who starred in the previous chapters will return to their roles: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, and Mark Ruffalo will all be back on screen. New stars will also join the cast: for example, Rosamund Pike will play one of the leading roles.

We live in a time when original and independent cinema is a rare bird among a flock of remakes and sequels of long-dead projects. The most absurd thing is when sequels appear to franchises that few people feel any real nostalgia for. It seemed that Now You See Me was over. And initially, everyone even accepted this: the third part was planned back in 2015, but after the failure of the sequel, it was abandoned and shelved. Was it worth digging it out?
Plot. A new generation of adventurous magicians revives the legend of the Four Horsemen. At the behest of Oka, the entire main team gradually joins them to solve a new Samaritan task: to steal a diamond from the cunning heiress of a criminal empire and leave her high and dry. But in this confusing game, no one can be trusted. Behind the sparkle of the diamond lies a web of lies, and every step is part of a grand illusion. Will the heroes be able to uncover the truth before they themselves become pawns in someone else's game?
The main question to be addressed is, “Can this plot be called clichéd?” On the one hand, yes, we've seen it all before (for example, in the recent Bad Boys 2, which used the same pattern). But should we call something that doesn't work a cliché? Literally everything is broken: endless and sometimes excessive exposition, exhausting dialogues, cloying and ineffective dramatic moments, painfully predictable plot twists. So why do they use it over and over again? In an attempt to delve into the story and patch up the holes, the viewer races their brain.
Characters. Alas, almost all of the characters familiar to the viewer have lost their charisma. Atlas is a jerk, Merritt is a dog tired of life, Wilder is disappointed in his routine life, Henley is a bored mom, Lula is an outspoken eco-feminist (she was literally forgotten to be given any lines other than “look how cool SHE is!”), and Tadeusz is just an old man who doesn't need anything. And they all couldn't care less about this adventure! Motivation appears out of thin air in the form of “The Eye said so,” “Why not?” or “I guess I really was missing something like this.” And it shows: the riders simply reluctantly blink their eyes like extras, and the whole plot is built around the young people. But the latter turn out to be faceless. Throughout the film, they try to prove that they are no worse than the old guys (although the denouement turns the pathos to ashes). But why? Create a new story for them, if you want to. I would like to say that the antagonist turned out to be good against the backdrop. But no, in his place there was also a clichéd cardboard cutout.
The viewer tries to latch onto some kind of living character, but, alas, there simply aren't any here.
Action scenes and tricks. Unfortunately, while watching, it's impossible to shake the feeling that this is not an illusion, but ordinary editing. But what's funny is that there isn't much magic in the film, and most of it is contained in one scene where the characters banally measure their penises. Moreover, some of the tricks are extremely questionable (did Henley really carry two dresses with her throughout the entire trip just to show off in front of her friends?). However, there are far more ordinary fights in the film, in the style of Jackie Chan movies. And here's the question: since when have magicians been able to deal with four trained security guards with such enviable ease? No one even tries to use any clever magic tricks, a simple punch in the face is enough.
Acting. According to the plot, the characters must steal a diamond from the heroine Rosamund Pike, but she stole the whole film from them in retaliation. Perhaps Rosamund's appearance is the most enjoyable aspect. Bright and juicy, without losing the sparkle in her eyes. I really wanted to watch her, she caught my eye. The same cannot be said about the rest.
Humor. It makes the film lighthearted. And perhaps that's what saves it. There is a whole spectrum of jokes here: from crude gags and obscenities to subtle and contextual inserts. This is not a thriller, it's a simple comedy in the style of Ocean's Thirteen. It can entertain you in the moment and be forgotten as soon as you leave the theater.
