The Arrival 4K 1996 Ultra HD 2160p
One day, radio astronomer Zane Zaminski heard a signal from space. However, despite Zane’s “discovery of the century,” his boss, Jordian, fires him, leading Zaminiski to conclude that there is a massive conspiracy to conceal contact with an extraterrestrial civilization. In search of evidence to support his theory, Zane travels to a province in Mexico, where he meets Ilana Green, a specialist in global weather forecasting. Here in Mexico, risking his life, Zane discovers that the aliens feel right at home here on Earth. Of course, they haven’t conquered Earth yet, but when choosing which path to take to solve the problems of life on their own, apparently dying planet—whether through negotiations with Earthlings or by destroying our civilization—the aliens chose the second option...
User Review
The Arrival (1996) received positive reviews from critics and audiences, who praised its intelligent, suspenseful plot and its clever use of global warming as an alien conspiracy, with many comparing its paranoid, investigative tone to an extended episode of *The X-Files*. While its mid-90s CGI effects—particularly the aliens' backward-bending knees—have aged poorly, the film has earned a strong cult following due to Charlie Sheen's engaging performance and a script that focuses on mystery and tension rather than just mindless action, even though it was commercially overshadowed at the time by the release of Independence Day.
