The story of how young Optimus Prime and Megatron went from brothers in arms to sworn enemies.

The cartoon tells the story of how Optimus Prime (leader of the good Autobots) and Megatron (leader of the evil Decepticons) went from best friends to sworn enemies. I mean, that's a real BEGINNING. And it's a pretty cool beginning, I'll tell you that. Throughout the cartoon, the friendship between Optimus and Megatron (then Orion Pax and D-16, respectively) grows increasingly thin until the expected climax. Yes, the cartoon's plot is clichéd and predictable, but that's not a problem for a number of reasons:
First, any cliché has a right to life at least because, with the proper skill of the screenwriter, it evokes in the viewer the emotions needed at the moment, and with this the cartoon copes well.
Secondly, 'Inception' is clearly an old Transformers animated series, not Michael Bay's movies, so the archaic nature of the plot twists and tropes here, on the contrary, fits perfectly into the atmosphere of the movie.
Thirdly, the very story of the beginning of the confrontation between the Autobots and Decepticons has been told a million times, including by Michael Bay. From the side of the creators of the cartoon it would be foolish to reinvent the wheel - so they did not, they just made a good cartoon.
As for the minuses - here they are rather not minuses, but my picky ones. There are exactly three. The first is Bumblebee (who is still B-126 here for now). He just doesn't shut up for a minute. I understand perfectly well what such characters are for, the progenitor of which, if I'm not mistaken, is Donkey from Shrek. But here you can get tired of endless jokes (some of which are really good, I admit). Picky number two - a new race of aliens, which was not revealed at all, but I hope there will be a sequel to this (I think I've already said that once). And picky number three is the ending. It came out... blurry. It has two or three climaxes, each of which could have ended the movie, but the creators didn't. For example, the credits could have ended with the former friends finally renouncing their old selves and becoming Megatron and Optimus Prime. Their further battle isn't even necessary, it was a gorgeous moment for the finale, with a powerful lead-in for the sequel. Otherwise...
But again, those were just my imho nitpicks. The cartoon is consistently good, and I'm betting on the trilogy.
