Tommy Boy 4K 1995 Ultra HD 2160p

Tommy has been a fat, lanky kid since childhood, always falling over, hitting doors and fences, but never discouraged, kind and helpful. After graduating with all C's from college just six months behind the rest of the class, he arrives in his hometown, where his father (Dennehy) wants his son to continue the business at the family auto parts plant. He gives his son a surprise - Tommy will have an adorable new mom (Derek), plus the brother our goody-goody has dreamed of since childhood.

I watched this absolutely adult movie, and even rude in some places, when I was a child with a bad gnusy translation on a videocassette. Of course, I didn't understand much of it from the first time, but it left something in my soul that from the first viewing until today I have watched it an odd number of times, I know every word of the translator, every word of the actors, their emotions, sounds and even screams. I am very grateful to the creators for this seemingly unremarkable and at the same time wonderful movie that teaches us kindness, selflessness, friendship. This movie has given me so much already, but I still rewatch it, each time immersing myself in this atmosphere of an American town, American roads and motels.

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of this movie is the wonderful music, which even without the picture transports you into this movie. It conveys every situation of this movie so well that just from the melody alone you are already fired up to watch this comedy. Of course not only funny music is needed, but also sad music. I simultaneously love and dread the father and son song together, because the transition from fun dance song to heartbreaking bagpipes is so ingenious. Thank you to this movie for my immense love of bagpipes! And the moments in the car when the main characters sing along to the songs are something!

And of course the duet between Richard and Tommy is wonderful to watch. They are so different, and at the beginning even slightly repulsive with their not very positive qualities. But at the end, thanks to their interaction and influence on each other, they reveal themselves and you can't help but love them and cheer for their common cause. And some phrases remain in your memory forever: 'Luke, I'm your father!', 'It's called reading: top to bottom, right to left...', 'We killed Bambi!', 'That was great, sorry about your car!', 'That guy in the little jacket...'.

It's a shame Chris Farley's no longer alive! He and David would have made so many more great movies. Thanks to this movie, this talented actor still lives on in the hearts of fans, still having fun, still selling brake pads. His work is not dead, because he gave so much to this world, for which he and all the creators of this movie a BIG THANK YOU!
