At the time, this wonderful and cool S.L. Jackson-plastation passed me by, because I thought it was nonsense. Years passed, the “nonsense” became a cult, and then the movie roulette came in handy, and I realized — it's time! The film is perfect from start to finish, despite its trashy nature and single concept. Director David R. Ellis knows how to shoot any crazy plot in a cool and dynamic way, and this time he did an excellent job again. Excellent dynamics, tension, and the scenes with partially computer-generated snakes still look great. The film certainly doesn't shine with plot revelations, but who needs them when the cool and beloved black guy with the charisma of a locomotive is dealing with a bunch of crawling creatures, not forgetting to throw in his trademark curses, which you could listen to forever. In the background, as always, is the charming Julianna Margulies and a very young Taylor Kitsch with a funny hairstyle. The finale has an epic catharsis in store, effectively crowning this cinematic delight. All in all, it turned out to be dumb, spirited, and lively, which is just what the doctor ordered for this genre!
