User Review

This movie is intended exclusively for die-hard fans and the youngest audience—it’s pure nostalgia-driven cash-in

Disney isn’t even trying to hide it: they’re simply monetizing the “The Mandalorian and Grogu” brand. The plot is a clichéd adventure template: Mission A: find something; Mission B: rescue someone. That’s it. Everything feels sterile, empty, and utterly meaningless. The film seems to have been pieced together from a set of Lego-style plot blocks, lacking any soul or cinematic magic. This isn’t a movie—it’s a marketing product disguised as a film.

The Grogu puppet is now painfully obvious. They’re literally pulling the strings, and it looks absurd—a typical puppet show set against a space backdrop. In the series, the animatronic characters had a touching charm; you could sense the craftsmanship and care that went into them, but here it’s just plain exploitation. Disney has destroyed almost everything we love about this story.

In the TV series, Grogu was treated like a living being: the cinematographers framed the shots to hide imperfections, the lighting designers played with shadows, and the voice actors breathed life into him. It created the illusion of a real, living adventure. Now, however, he’s just a mascot crammed into every frame, with strings being pulled, showing no respect for the viewer.

Pedro Pascal delivers his lines in a dry, robotic manner. Throughout the entire viewing experience, this was very disappointing—as if it weren’t Pedro at all, but someone else, and his face had been superimposed using AI. The moment when he removes his helmet is presented as a run-of-the-mill device that has no real impact. In the TV series, it was a personal drama for the hero, but here it’s a familiar plot device devoid of emotion or empathy.
