Araki shows in a grotesque manner the self-destructive behavior of modern American youth. The heroes of the movie are almost children, but they are already having sex (and the sex of the partner does not matter much), seeking edgy entertainment, using drugs, while their parents are watching TV and dealing with their personal lives. The plot centers on several young boys and girls who go to a party that turns into a group orgy with blood and violence. Also glimpsed in the frame is an alien who abducts one of the young men, the gay Montgomery. This guy at the end of the movie tells Darke (James Duvall), who can be singled out as the main character, about their plans to destroy the humans. Darhk wants to leave this filthy planet with the girl he loves. “Heterosexual” movie, as it was written in ‘Doom Generation’ (Doom Generation), continues. The heroes of Araki's tape live in “nowhere”, and the director himself prophesies their total doom on the scale of civilization. A very gloomy prognosis.

How many opinions have I heard, how many reviews have I read, but until you watch it, you can't feel it. And after watching it, all other opinions go away, because I have my own, and it does not agree with anyone. I agree on one thing - the movie is very bold and unconventional.
'They are nobody and live nowhere.... ' - the last sentence of the description. An attempt to explain the title? But they are human beings and they live in our world, right next to us. And maybe we are like them? Or were they? They are the ones who now teach us how to live. And how did they live, the golden youth of the mid-90s?
When I was watching it, I caught myself thinking that I believe what is happening, and I don't doubt for a gram that it is sex and drugs that determine the lives of those who have nothing to do. It's America, it's the states. It seems, God, it's so far away, it's not about us, it's not true. I'm sure Russia is not far away. The same thing, the whole plot, all the shots can be safely projected onto the lives of Russian teenagers, whatever they say. There are many heroes and their goal is the same: to get to the party, where there will be even more dirt, drunkenness, stupefaction and unconsumed sex. They will get there... Not all of them.
This is probably a good time to say that I liked the movie. The plot is there, why they say it's missing, I don't understand. Yes, it's ambiguous, yes, it's not standard, but it's there. The main thing is that it carries an idea, which each viewer will define in his own way. And when in the middle of this madness a guy jumps into the pool, and your soul trembles with the realization of the futility of this life. When you suddenly feel that all their 'pleasures' pale in the face of death, violence and cruelty. That's when you realize what this movie means to you. For me, it did not become entertaining, and that's how my acquaintances perceived it, who advised me to watch this 'crazy outrage'. For me it became a decent, serious and 'talking movie'.
The actors, as they say, are just tinny and they managed to 'rock'. They weren't afraid to get naked. They weren't afraid to show unconventional love. It's natural and it's not cloying. I kept thinking, “Well, where have I seen her before?” Hmm, it's like we know each other. Ay, well, I can not help but say how I liked Ryan Phillippe in a small role of a guy who is constantly having sex. And Denise Richards' second role... Small things, but nice.
Also. You have to be careful with the consumption of movies like this. They certainly do everything right: promiscuous sex, drugs and partying first, and then all the dire consequences of that lifestyle. But hell, after watching it, at least I felt like getting drunk.....
