When you watch old movies, you can't help comparing them with modern ones, and this comparison is not in favor of the latter.
Yes, modern movies are more spectacular, but the old ones have more soul. In modern movies, the emphasis is on special effects and PR (not in all of them, of course), and in old movies - on the script and acting.
Alain Delon played brilliantly - both the self-assured nobleman and his quiet, shy brother turned out very convincingly. The plot seems naive in some places, but there is definitely a charm in it. And how much humor is in 'Black Tulip'! Sometimes it is enough to look at the expression on the faces of the prefect and his kind to laugh - these images turned out caricatured, but very bright. And their speeches are just pure pearls.
I would like to believe that watching this wonderful movie will encourage someone to read Dumas' book, on which it was filmed.
